A customized Orthrus host intrusion prevention application provides the following benefits to an organization:

• Ordinary anti-virus products are open targets for hackers who create malicious codes that disable these products before installing their payloads.  Customizing Orthrus allows a unique name for the application, which avoids the application becoming the target of a malicious code.

• With customization, a secure web server can be established in a corporation's intranet to handle communication traffic between clients and the management server.  This approach gives local administrators first-hand knowledge about client activities and also allows them to react quickly to a security breach.  An intranet web server also permits more frequent client-server communications.

• In a customized Orthrus version, all hosts maintain a process history log which records all unverified processes and library modules as they are started. In the case of investigating a security breach or performing a regulatory audit, this running process logging will be tremendously valuable as it gives track records to prove whether or not a host has been compromised by a specific malware.

• The source code of the administrative console for the management web server is provided with the site license free of charge to corporate customers so additional development to extend its functionality or other reporting features can be incorporated. WNSC also provides fee-based programming support upon request.
